Through Christ Jesus, our Savior, God has blessed us with gifts. What are we doing with those gifts?
In my last post I shared how these gifts from God will never break, rot, malfunction, or expire. Yet, we need to keep our gifts stirred up so we can use them for God’s glory.
“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in your through the laying on of my hands” (2 Timothy 1:6).
Let’s stir up our gifts by praying the following prayer.
Lord, You are great and highly to be praised. Your greatness is unsearchable. You are my strength and shield. My heart trusts in You for I am helped. I give You thanks. I thank you that every good and perfect gift is from above and from You, my father. For the gifts and the calling You gave me are irrevocable. You gave me a special gift through Christ’s generosity. “When he ascended to the heights, he led a crowd of captives and gave gifts to his people.” You gave some to be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers so that God’s people will be equipped to do Your work and build up the body of Christ so that we will be mature in the Lord. Therefore, when I remember You, I shall stir up the gift You put in me. I ask You to bless me with the spiritual gifts so that I may use them to help others.
Each one of us has received a gift from God, and I will use my gift to serve others with all the strength and energy give to me through God. The work I do, I shall do for You and not for men for You are my reward. I shall serve You with all my heart.
