November 30, 2021 is Giving Tuesday. According to their website, this idea started in 2012. It is now “a global moment that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.”

Here’s more information about Fortress of Hope:
We are a ministry that supports families whose lives have been turned upside down because someone they love, a family member landed in prison.
These families are silent sufferers in our communities. They blend into their workplaces, churches, and social gatherings, often keeping their imprisoned loved one a secret.
Families that find themselves in this situation experience grief, shame, guilt, fear, condemnation, worry, anxiety, and depression.
They have no safe place to find support as society nor most churches do not realize there is a need for these families. (Click here to read more about The Hole.)
That’s where Fortress of Hope comes in. We walk with families as they navigate their way on an unexpected journey of having an incarcerated family member.
As a support organization, we host monthly Zoom meetings where anyone in the world can join us for support. We share testimonies of our struggles and how we overcame them.
We have a free membership where families have access to resources specific to the prison family need. (To read more details about what we do, click here.)
One member shared with us, “After my husband was arrested, I researched online for support, but came up mostly empty handed. I was baffled as I felt like there should be some resources. This was my first experience with anyone being incarcerated and it was a whole new world. Then Shonda’s email showed up. It was comforting to know that I’m not alone in this life journey. Because this group is remote, I can join from many states away. I’m incredibly grateful for the emotional and spiritual support provided by this ministry.”
The platforms we utilize (websites, zoom, and membership areas) plus promotional and office expenses add up.
