While the world’s scientists scramble to discover a vaccine for the Coronavirus, as believers, we are equipped with something more powerful, and stronger than any man-made vaccination. We have the completed work of Christ on the cross, the blood He shed by His stripes is for our healing, and we have HIS Word on it. By confessing God’s Word, it activates its intended purposes so the Word accomplishes the reason God gave it to us (Isaiah 55:11).

I’m not opposed to using medications or vaccines, practicing social distancing, and increasing our personal hygiene practices,  as I believe the Lord uses those to bring forth healing and to protect us from diseases.

One of the enemy’s greatest weapons against us is fear. God did not give us fear …

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline” (2 Timothy 1:7 NLT).

Here are seven Scriptures on fear and I turned them into declarations for you to confess over yourself and your loved ones.

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

Lord, I thank You that You are always with me and I do not have to be afraid or discouraged for You are my God. You strengthen me and help me. You hold me up with Your victorious right hand.

“But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.” (Psalm 56:3)

Lord, when I am afraid, I will put my trust in You!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

I choose not to worry about anything, but instead I choose to pray about everything. I turn all my worries into prayers, telling God what I need. I thank You Lord for all you have done for me. (List things you are thankful for here.) As I give You thanks for all You have done, I experience Your peace that exceeds anything I can understand. Your peace guards my heart and my mind as I live in Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen!

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27)

Jesus left me with the gift of peace and mind and heart. This kind of peace the world cannot give to me. So I will not let my heart be troubled or afraid.

I prayed to the Lord, and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears..” (Psalm 34:4)

When I pray to the Lord, He answers me and frees me from all my fears.

“But now, O Jacob, listen to the Lord who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says, “Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1)

Lord, You are the One who formed me and You tell me not to be afraid for You ransomed me. You call me by name and I am Yours.

“Don’t be afraid. Just have faith.” (Mark 5:36)

I will just have faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ and not be afraid.

These are just to get you started. Continue to look up passages to conquer fear and confess them every day.

In Appeal to the Courtroom of Heaven: Petitions for Prisoners and Prison Families I share my unexpected prison family journey testimony. I also point out how the Lord redeemed the worst-of-the-worst offenders found in the pages of the Bible and explain an effective prayer strategy I learned from this experience.

I pray my transparency and vulnerability points to the source of HOPE for those who lost hope in the midst of despair.
